genesis 4:19-5:32

What is up with all those names in the bible?  Could those boring parts that most people skip over actually have a purpose in the Bible?  Could those name actually have something to do with me?

Scripture:Genesis 6-10

How did it get so bad that God would decide to destroy all of his creation.  Is this a picture of an unjust/mean God or does He give his people a chance to repent and to be saved?

Scripture: Genesis 11

When people decided to do what was convenient instead of what was commanded, it led them on a path of sin where anything was possible.  The only solution was for God to intervene and to get the people to question who they really where.

Scripture: Genesis 2

God made Adam and Eve in his image.  This is before sin entered into the world.  Understanding who God created people to be will ultimately change your view on people , God and His creation.

Scripture: Genesis 3 

After Adam and Eve Sinned against God, He calls out to them, "where are U"?  Does God really not know where they are at or is he asking them, where are U after this?  Is life better for you or worse?  How did we get here and now how are we going to fix it?

Scripture: Genesis 1

We often think of just our world when we think of God's creation, but his creation is much larger and broader than we could ever imagine.  Just look at the stars and you see the creators hand at work.  However, be prepared.  When you look at his entire creation it could make you feel very, very, small.

Scripture: Genesis 4

In this passage we witness the first murder.  Cain kills his very own brother out of anger.  How did he allow his anger to manifest to this point?  What small bits of anger do we have dwelling within us?

Scripture: Genesis 12:1-9

God told Abram to leave his country, his people, and his family and begin to follow God.  When we are called by God, sometimes we are called to leave things behind.  What is God calling you too and what must you leave behind to follow him?

Scripture: Genesis 15

Abram had trouble accepting God's promises.  He needed proof, so with each promise God gave him a sign in order for Abram to believe.  The last sign that God gives in this passage is larger and bigger than any of us can even imagine.  It will leave you asking; "is this for real"?

Scripture: Genesis 16

Where has the Peace gone today?  People are anxious about thier finances, health, etc..  We want solutions and we want them now.  Abraham & Sarah wanted solutions as well.  They were tired of waiting and took matters into their own hands.  Find out what happens when we act on our own without God, and learn how to be patient and wait upon the Lord.

Scripture: Genesis 18:16-33

Abraham loves his nephew Lot so much that he decides to pray for him.  He approaches God and attempts to bargain with him.  He pours out his heart in order to save his nephew.  But by the time Abraham finishes praying he realizes that his prayer really isn't about him or his nephew.  It's really about God and his love He has for us.

Scripture: Genesis 18:1-15, 21:1-7 

Sarah thought it would be impossible for her to become a mother.  If placed in her position we might be just as skeptical.  Somtimes it takes an act of God for the impossible to become possible.  In this story we see how God intervenes and changes her skeptical laughter into pure joy.

Genesis 32:22-32

Our God never changes, but he does change us.  Jacob had a desire for God to bless his idea of bribing his brother Esau, but God had other plans.  Jacob received God's blessing, but it was only after a wrestling match that would forever change Jacob's life.  This same God desires to change our lives as well if we are willing.

Genesis 37

When things don't go right in your life it often leads to questions like: where is God?  Does He care?  Does God even exist?  If God is really powerful, then why doesn't He change the circumstances in my life?  Joseph most likely had to wrestle with these questions, but when we flip to the end of Joseph's life in Genesis 50:20 we find that he receives the answers he is looking for.
